Chingri Malai Curry: Bengali Style Prawn Coconut Curry 🍤🥥

Chingri Malai Curry, or Prawn Coconut Curry, is one of the most luxurious and flavorful Bengali dishes. It's a creamy, aromatic curry made with prawns and coconut milk, typically served with steamed rice. This dish has a rich, silky texture and is packed with flavors.


Chingri Malai Curry Banano: Dorkar Upokoron:

  1. Chingri (Prawns) – 300-400 gm 🍤 (peeled and deveined)

  2. Coconut Milk – 1 cup 🥥

  3. Onion – 1 ta, finely chopped 🧅

  4. Tomato – 1 ta, finely chopped 🍅

  5. Ginger-Garlic Paste – 1 tbsp 🧄

  6. Green Chilies – 2-3 ta 🌶️

  7. Turmeric Powder (Halud) – 1/2 tsp 🌿

  8. Cumin Powder (Jeera powder) – 1 tsp 🌾

  9. Coriander Powder (Dhania powder) – 1 tsp 🌿

  10. Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp 🌶️

  11. Mustard Oil (Shorsher Tel) – 3-4 tbsp 🛢️

  12. Salt (Namak) – to taste 🧂

  13. Sugar – 1/2 tsp (optional) 🍬

  14. Bay Leaves (Tej Patta) – 2 leaves 🌿

  15. Coriander Leaves (Dhania Pata) – for garnishing 🌱


Chingri Malai Curry Bananor Paddhoti:

1. Prepare the Prawns:

  • Prawns ke bhalo kore dhoye niye, extra pani chhane niye niben.

  • Prawns gulo ke halud ebong namak diye 10-15 minute marinate kore rakhben. 🍤🌿

2. Prepare the Curry Base:

  • Ekta boro frying pan ba pot e shorsher tel garam kore, bay leaves (tej patta) diye bhalo kore bhaja. 🌿

  • Tarpor, piyaz (onion) diye bhaja, jeno piyaz golden brown hoy. 🧅

  • Ekhon, ginger-garlic paste diye aro 1-2 minute bhaja. 🧄

3. Add Tomatoes and Spices:

  • Tomato gulo diye bhalo kore bhaja, jeno tomato gulo puri hoye jai. 🍅

  • Tarpor, turmeric powder (halud), cumin powder (jeera), coriander powder (dhania) diye bhalo kore mix korben. 🌿🌶️

  • Jodi chaile, ekto shorkora (sugar) diye curry ke balanced flavor dite paren. 🍬

4. Cook the Prawns:

  • Marinated prawns gulo diye, 3-4 minute bhaja, jeno prawns gulo slightly golden hoye jai. 🍤

  • Ekhon, coconut milk (narikel er doodh) diye bhalo kore mix korben. 🥥

  • Salt and green chilies diye, 10-12 minute sim kora dite hobe, jeno curry thick hoye jaye.

5. Final Touch & Garnishing:

  • Jodi curry bhalo hole, garam masala diye flavor increase korte paren. 🌶️

  • Ekhon, curry ta ekto thanda hole, dhonia pata diye garnish korben. 🌱

  • Prawn Coconut Curry ta garam garam serve korben, Bengali bhat (steamed rice) er sathe.
